- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2024How do you seriously study scripture without a basic understanding of Judaism??? With the help of Dr. Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg! I love studying scripture and appreciate the many tools available online. However, without learning Hebrew, and taking courses in the History, and the culture of the time, one must honestly own that gaps of understanding are formed in the absence of such knowledge. It hinders thorough study. Hebrew Insights from Revelation is my first of the many books Dr. Eli has written and I am so grateful for the insights and knowledge it provides. This book is easy to understand, offers excellent insights, and is cited well on issues where there are discrepancies relative to when things occurred and other matters that scholars still wrestle with. It is a short read and yet bold in the kind of information needed to truly grasp and ponder scripture from the Jewish perspective that is foundational to studying the bible. Thank you, sir! I look forward to your other works as I pursue my passion in studying the Precious Word of God.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2024This has truly been a transformative read for me. It has completely changed the way I view the Book of Revelation by helping me understand its deep connections to Hebrew culture, language, and theology. So much of what we read in English translations can miss or even lose the meaning because it doesn't reflect the Jewish mindset of the Apostle John, who wrote Revelation.
What I love most about this book is how it brings the symbolic language at Revelation to life. Dr. Eli shows how Revelation ties directly to the Old Testament and God's covenant promises, making the whole message of hope, victory, and restoration so much clearer. Even if you've read Revelation before, this book will help you see it in a new light.
For me, this wasn't just an influential experience- it was spiritually enriching. If you have ever found Revelation confusing or hard to relate to, this book is an invaluable guide. It bridges the gap between modern Western perspective and the original Jewish context of the Scriptures. I'm still reading it, but it's deepened my understanding and appreciation for God's Word in ways I didn't expect. Highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024The book clearly gives insights from a Hebrew mindset in ancient days. I was not disappointed and was able to absorb these new thoughts and perspectives. It will require a 2nd, 3rd and possibly a 4th reading to absorb all the truths revealed. I choose this rating because I could not put the book down. I wanted to read more...
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2024The authors of this book were very helpful in pointing out the the Hebrew Apocalyptic style of writing of the book the Revelation of John. The title was very appropriate as the books explanations of the poetic language and descriptions of John's visions and experience sited other similar prophetic visions in the books of the Old Testament prophets. Helpful, as well, were historical references of the social and economic climate in the Asia Minor towns of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyratira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. Care was taken to explain how translation in the Hebrew, Greek and Aramean language can subtly enhance understanding of the root words. This book gave me a different perspective as to the occupations, pagan surroundings could affect the Church members as they were nearing the end of the first century AD. The return of Messiah is explored in a Judean Historical review of Old Testament prophecies as well asThe End of Days future visions that John saw were similar to the visions of the Prophets of Old ie(Isaiah, Ezekial, Daniel, Zechariah, Amos etc)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2024The book of Revelation is amazing but confusing This book is helpful to read along side while studying the book of Revelation Read sections of the book in advance of reading sections of the Bible so you get a better understanding of what you are reading in the Bible Very helpful
- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2023This study is very good, and it is very important.
As we hear the Revelation of Jesus Christ more and more and allow our hearts and ears to be alert spiritually to Him,we are able to finally get a logical and beautiful understanding of all of this!
But we also need teachers to guide us.
We may not agree about each thing taught but it should not be so drastically off that it has become a frightening legend to us.
We ought to know Christ and be IN Christ enough to know His Revelation is ours.
A teaching like this one backs that up.
Why?
It keeps Israel in perspective and understands the plan of God and never replaces Israel.
One question.
Are we fully in acceptance of what Paul was given as the Gospel of grace?
If so,we can fully understand why Jesus is saying things that are warnings and corrections aling with blessings given but why we do not hear the term Body of Christ in the book.
Use this.
The writer did great research.
It is helping me so far.
There have not been any really strange things.
His knowledge of the differences in Hebrew and Greek are helpful.
The term church or assembly is explained well so you do not see a large modern church.
The teaching of John's day and where to find out things helps us not confuse names or meanings.
That is all.
I suggest it.
But I am only half through.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Hidden Gem
I recently stumbled upon this book, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the very first page, I was drawn into the beautifully crafted world. The characters are so relatable and well-developed; I felt like I was living their adventures alongside them.
The author has a magical way with words, painting vivid scenes that make you feel as if you’re right there in the moment. The plot twists kept me on my toes, and I found myself eagerly flipping pages late into the night. Each chapter ended with just enough intrigue to make it impossible to put down!
What I loved most was the underlying message about friendship and resilience. It resonated deeply with me and left me feeling inspired. I also appreciated the balance of humor and emotion—it was a rollercoaster ride that I’d happily experience again.
If you’re looking for a book that’s heartwarming, engaging, and beautifully written, this is it! I can’t wait to share it with my friends and see what they think. Highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars There is still a lot left to say
An interesting book, especially in view of the background of both authors. The Biblical references and quotations are helpful, and also those from the apocryphal books of Enoch. The attempt to explain the phrase “those who call themselves Jews and really are not, but are the synagōgē tou Satana“ at Rev 2:9 with reference to Jewish proselytes from the Gentiles who were critical of Gentile Christians who had not first embraced Judaism, would need a lot more arguing for. Anyway, as this book ends rather abruptly after Rev 8:15-17, but is titled “Book 1”, let’s hope that a Book 2 (3 …?) will soon follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives great insights that are easy to understand into the Book of Revelation
I wanted to be faithful to the way the original early Christian Jewish audience would have understood this letter in my sermons. It was good having some of the visions that have been given many and varied interpretations by Western scholars, unpacked and given logical explanations of how the early Church would have comprehended the vision. Now Revelation is not a great mystery to me. And don't be scared for it doesn't contain all the religious jargon in commentaries. And even though it covers serious subjects it is easy to read with its straightforward plain language. I highly recommend anyone and everyone read it as it will help counter some of the current fanciful ideas about Revelation. Vicki
