Want a blessing? A must-have must-read book!
I am understanding so much more in the Scriptures in light of Jewish culture at the time Revelation was written. We are instructed to get wisdom and get understanding. Putting in context what the authors researched and have written is giving me excitement and expectancy and a new desire to learn as much as I can. It definitely is clarifying how my life needs to be lived now. Blessings!

This study is very good, and it is very important.
As we hear the Revelation of Jesus Christ more and more and allow our hearts and ears to be alert spiritually to Him,we are able to finally get a logical and beautiful understanding of all of this!
But we also need teachers to guide us.
We may not agree about each thing taught but it should not be so drastically off that it has become a frightening legend to us.
We ought to know Christ and be IN Christ enough to know His Revelation is ours.
A teaching like this one backs that up.
Why?
It keeps Israel in perspective and understands the plan of God and never replaces Israel.
One question.
Are we fully in acceptance of what Paul was given as the Gospel of grace?
If so,we can fully understand why Jesus is saying things that are warnings and corrections aling with blessings given but why we do not hear the term Body of Christ in the book.
Use this.
The writer did great research.
It is helping me so far.
There have not been any really strange things.
His knowledge of the differences in Hebrew and Greek are helpful.
The term church or assembly is explained well so you do not see a large modern church.
The teaching of John's day and where to find out things helps us not confuse names or meanings.
That is all.
I suggest it.
But I am only half through.

If you are a "believer" in knowing that the Bible is the 'undiluted word of God' then you should be the entire book. Do not be afraid of Revelation. It is wonderful and a blessing to see that God has an end to all the hate that is encompassing the world. As a believer in Jesus, fear is not what engulfs me but what the world will see if change is not done. This book, Hebrew Insights from Revelation has shored up my faith and explained my walk in Christ. to me, I received the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Thank you Eli for clearing the muddy waters I had. To all others, read the book and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you

I have read the book of Revelation probably 20 times over the past 20 years and have taught several classes on it. Dr. Eli's book has shed new light on some difficult parts of this book and has great explanations of many other parts of the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a serious student of God's Word!

It is impossible to properly understand the book of Revelation without knowing the context of Old Testament scriptures and Hebraic apocalyptic language. Dr Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg provides that context to explain the Jewish perspective and relevance of 1st century readers and the impact on readers today.

The author does a great job of putting Revelation in a biblical prospective from all the prophets and the words of Jesus. I got a different insight of what is in Revelation.

I was taught from an early age to read the Old and New Testament taking each word as the Word of God meant to be understood as literal and unchanging in understanding and translation. Not until I studied Hebrew and Greek, and theology did I understand the Old and New Testaments to be one faith and one book. Further more, I am thankful for Scholars such as Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg and Pinchas Shir for my enlightenment and Spiritual growth. Realization that the Sacred Word read is Sacred Word translated in many languages, oral and written, passed from campfires to monks copying and redacting, we all need open minds. Minds that will come to know the value of Critical historical, political, economical and theological thinking and understanding God has and is speaking through human tongues who embody personal esoteric influences. As a result, I take the position of Martin Luther and his words, "About this book of the Revelation of John, I leave everyone free to hold his own opinions. I would not have anyone bound to my opinion or judgment. I say what I feel."( Luther, M. (1999). Vol. 35: Luther's works, vol. 35: Word and Sacrament. HOWEVER, after reading Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg and Pinchas Shir's Revelation I am convinced these scholars are the brightest light to illumination that I have been privileged to study and find further enlightenment. Thank you both!

3.0 out of 5 stars There is still a lot left to say

An interesting book, especially in view of the background of both authors. The Biblical references and quotations are helpful, and also those from the apocryphal books of Enoch. The attempt to explain the phrase “those who call themselves Jews and really are not, but are the synagōgē tou Satana“ at Rev 2:9 with reference to Jewish proselytes from the Gentiles who were critical of Gentile Christians who had not first embraced Judaism, would need a lot more arguing for. Anyway, as this book ends rather abruptly after Rev 8:15-17, but is titled “Book 1”, let’s hope that a Book 2 (3 …?) will soon follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives great insights that are easy to understand into the Book of Revelation
Reviewed in Australia on April 16, 2024
I wanted to be faithful to the way the original early Christian Jewish audience would have understood this letter in my sermons. It was good having some of the visions that have been given many and varied interpretations by Western scholars, unpacked and given logical explanations of how the early Church would have comprehended the vision. Now Revelation is not a great mystery to me. And don't be scared for it doesn't contain all the religious jargon in commentaries. And even though it covers serious subjects it is easy to read with its straightforward plain language. I highly recommend anyone and everyone read it as it will help counter some of the current fanciful ideas about Revelation. Vicki
